Everybody had there chance on at least one pronghorn. 4 of us were lucky enough to come back home with one trophy. Some may also qualified for a Pope and Young.

We took a bunch of pictures up there, many games available. We saw cougar, mule deers, whitetail deers, pronghorn of course, merriam turkeys and much more.

It all began in May when we decided to go see the show for Bon Jovi in Montreal. We took the opportunity to get our 5 tons of Cherry Blossom cake that we brought in the United States. We left early with BadBoy OF THE HUMMER AND THE 3500 FORD pick up our sweets in the Montreal area. After preparing our spots and our camouflage the 4 bait, we had our 5th spot this year will be named CONDO, tower closed while net with a door on pulleys to lift our game, which is 10 meters further, the big luxury! All this made from Mario during the winter.

On the evening of May 15 we are at the rendezvous, Mario, Jean-Philippe and I are in the No. 1 spot. I’m in the tower with Jean-Philippe and Mario is hidden in the drum … Wow! Go see it on the site! So a bit of action this evening, 3 bears point to the bait but no suitable size for Jean-Pierre, and since we are the first night of the season, we are not. Several evenings of hunting will be done and Jean-Pierre and Marc-Andre reap their bears with perfect shots in both lungs. In terms of my hunt, I accompanied my sweet which made the job of cameraman, we were at the condo.

After several nights at the bait we knew that there were at least three bears were the gang that bears quality which means mature males of at least 200 lbs. It is with enthusiasm that I went and sat on May 22 evening with my new bow …. MATRIX HOYT, 67 pounds of pressure and of course a good old carbon express maxima with a rage 2 blades 2 inches cutting. After two hours of waiting, no bears had not pointed, I was quite surprised and Rachel too. Suddenly a loud crack was heard, and a small bear about 100 pounds lots to eat the bait but very nervous so we knew that would point to the largest. We did not make a mistake, it took 5 minutes for the big male that we saw two days ago, and that Rachel could not shoot, point the nose in the trail to the east of our bait. The two cameras then began running for two shots. The dominant male arrived, threw the door down and began to eat but not for long. As soon as the big male started eating our Cherry Blossom with confidence that my sweet and told me she was ready, I stretched my new matrix and allowed to go shooting up to the lungs. Ten seconds later the big male made his last breath, the rage 2 blade has done its work. After passing through both lungs, the arrow went through the shoulder of the opposite side of where I had shot, passed through. My bear was 71 feet before giving up the ghost. Immediately after shooting, I turned to my girlfriend and I saw the excitement in his eyes, it was really fun. An incredible film and a successful shot perfectly, that’s hunting! When I arrived near my bear I saw that I should not leave it alone in the woods so I called Jean-Pierre Marc-Andre to come and give us a hand. Sylvain they took their father’s brother Mario and we released bears all four together. The official weigh-in was tipping the scales at 253 lbs. It was early but I could not take the chance to miss a bear of that size there. I was very happy
most of my hunting I was with my girlfriend and she really enjoyed the experience. If you want to see the pictures they are on the site. A few days later it was around my girlfriend. On arriving there, still in the condo, we found that the bears are becoming less patient and move with the barrel of bait that we take care to nail all the time. The rut is about to start or it already is. We’re sitting at 18 hours, a blazing sun beat on the condo and we had a little warm. Suddenly, after 20 minutes of waiting, a bear that I could sort of a monster showed up at the bait for about 30 seconds before disappearing into the forest canopy. Rachel has never had time to shoot and she was very disappointed and I also. Subsequently, a festival held Bear! Fourteen different bears have been filmed throughout the evening, leaving only the battles meetings extremists through the couplings. What a sight! It stopped at 21.05 as Rachel’s choice to bear a medium which gave him a good chance to make a perfect shot, which she did indeed! A perfect shot from a distance of 10 meters allowed us to find the animal within 70 feet of where she was shot, what a great season!

That evening we had a good discussion with Jocelyn, who told us that HIS boars were more difficult to hunt in Quebec and they were also the most savage and aggressive coming directly from Europe. We have therefore decided to have dinner in Magog to determine who would drive and who was behind the camera. After a short discussion and a few beers we decided that Rachel would first and that would be me who would try to finish the day. Mario and Martine are therefore behind the camera. Morning came quickly and we decided to leave early to enjoy our day of hunting is still quite EASY! Once arrived, we decided to hunt in teams, the girls together and the two guys together. After three hours and no hunting boar harvested, only two appearances of ghosts, we decided to change his technique. We have requested the assistance of Jocelyn and his family to come and give us a hand as well as Jocelyn knows her field and that more people than we’ll be better to make a little battered.

I’ll spare you the details of a memorable day of 14 hours to over 25 degrees to hunt wild boar! After several hours of running, walking, good dives, a few lost arrows and above the three times where Mario has been loaded and even picked up by a wild boar … It was a great day!

Jocelyn and her family were very courteous and hard working to help us succeed in our hunt. For those who believe that penned hunting is easy, think again, if you want to have fun while losing a lot of calories is the place! Simply call our friend Jocelyn at 819-394-3538 and if you want a meat of exceptional quality and more ago, a small butcher shop next door where he recites the field, it freezes and you just have to pick up your meat. If you want to go hunting for wild boars until the deer season opens or moose, do not hesitate and call Jocelyn him stating that badboys are gone and you will be greeted like royalty.
